living on a boat (not for long)
Current mood: hungry
so i live on a boat... granted i'm moving soon to an apartment on solid ground... but i figured i should probably correct some of your thinking on the subject...
one common misconception is that i live on a boat, out in the middle of the ocean somewhere. when i told my friends we were going to live on a boat, they naturally assumed i would be rowing my dingy up to the beach each morning and scaling the cliffs to get on campus for school... really i live at a yacht club. we have running water, electricity, television, internet, a shower, and all the modern conveniences inside the boat (except for a decent size closet).
#2 I live on a boat, therefore i must thoroughly enjoy jokes about being a pirate... this may have been true 6 months ago when we first moved in, but trust me i've heard them all by now... and if i hear one more you'll be the next to walk the plank (it's funny if i make the jokes, just not you)
#3 Living on a boat is not the most terrible thing in the world as some of you have supposed. I don't hate it, as a matter of fact it was a pretty big adventure, and another story i'll have to entertain people at parties... but seriously it's taught dave and i a lot of lessons about being married, working together, and how we really don't need all the stuff the world tells us we need... but we do need a microwave...
